Feature Administrator's Guide: Paris

PARIS is an automated task built into mindSCOPE which extracts information from a candidate's resume and then inputs it into their profile in mindSCOPE. While this may be an automatic process, there are still several aspects which can be configured beforehand.

Move Resumes

1. From the Menu Bar click on Admin.
2. Arrow down to Move Resumes.
3. Click on it.

Note: This feature can only be used if your database does not embed its resumes. If you are
not sure whether your database does or not, open the resume tab in a candidate's record an see if the field box reads a path name or "Embedded".

This Admin feature does not really move your resumes. Rather, if you have already moved your resumes from one directory to another (e.g. from C:\Program Files\mindSCOPE to F:\Shared\Resumes) using a file maintenance program, such as Windows or NT Explorer, you can tell mindSCOPE where to point to in order to open your resumes.

If you have moved your resumes to a new directory then you will not be able to open the resumes in mindSCOPE until you enable this feature. Similarly, you will have problems if you have resumes in several different directories. mindSCOPE expects to see one directory for each type of resume (original, modified, and image file). To access all resumes you must move them to a common directory for each resume type. You will see how to remap the new directories in the following steps.

There are three different possible places where you can "move" or remap your resumes to; one for each type of resume: Original, Modified, and Resume Image Files.

You will only be able to remap a resume type if that type already exists in your database. For example, in order to move an image file resume you need to have image file resumes to move.

In each case you have two options open to you. You can "skip" a resume when you press the Skip button, which "greys out" the resume type. This means that it will be skipped over when the paths are remapped.

4. To inform mindSCOPE of your new path for these resumes type in the path over the existing entry in the "Enter the New Portion..." field.

5. Repeat this process for each resume type you want to move.

Note: Make sure to skip those resume types that you do not want moved or they will be moved as well.
