Feature Web Integration: Security

Page 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | TOC

Since this feature uses the internet to temporarily store your data within our web server, security becomes an understandable concern. In mindSCOPE, not only does every one of our client sites have their own unique serial number, but each licensed PC at each site as well. No two mindSCOPE users have the same serial number. We use this unique serial number as a password for each user and PC to access the data on the web server. There are two main advantages to this security measure:

1. Permission is based solely on your serial number
· Password-less security
· Users cannot access the system without both the correct serial number and PC

2. Your password is not stored on your web site
· If you are hacked, malicious users will not be able to find your password
· No one else, including those who maintain your web site, can discover your password

As mentioned above, your database is secure because it does not go online. The database within our server is strictly a holding area. It is used to post and request information to and from your database.

Security is broken down further based on how you access the database.

Although it appears that candidates have a direct link to your database, this is not at all the case. It only appears to be so because all of the elements have been integrated seemlessly.

If you access the database through Internet Explorer you will only be able to request specific information that the web page offers (e.g. posting a resume or finding out about a job order).

The only way you can make changes to the actual database is by accessing the information through mindSCOPE or uploading the information from the web server. At the centre of this is our web server and its firewall. Our server acts as a connector, sending records back and forth between your database and candidates, while at the same time prevents direct access from one end to the other.
